Professional Development Opportunities
CCER continues to conduct a variety of training and networking events giving members the chance to top-up their managerial skills and connect with colleagues. The most recent of these saw staff from the Systemic Schools system get together on 19 September to discuss matters affecting their sector. Of particular interest were two case law updates which focussed on physical injury and audiometric claims.
CCER’s Alex Bonello, who co-hosted the event, said it was “wonderful to see people working together to find innovative and practical ways to engage staff on their WHS duties and responsibilities”.
These solutions included inter-organisational competitions, WHS duty rosters and meeting agendas, to name a few. Participants all agreed that WHS awareness is a particularly challenging issue, and the networking event was a fantastic way to collaborate to find solutions.
